Scout Design is a design showroom that sells everything from furniture to pop art to life-size zebra sculptures – and their brand is as bold as their pieces.
On their website, you’ll find phrases like, “We’re not for everyone. Neither are you,” “Brassy and sassy,” and, “Blanche is back. Here for a good time, not a long time.”
Scout Design launched in 2012 by Flann Harris and Tiffany Taylor, the design duo entered the marketplace with a keen eye for vintage pieces and a vision to rework and recreate those very pieces.
Today, Scout is one of the established go-tos for designers and consumers alike and they’ve expanded considerably.
Every inch of their 15,000-square-foot showroom in the Design District is filled with unique, bold, brash pieces. And yes, they still sell vintage, but now those vintage pieces sit right alongside their limited edition, exclusive Scout Label furniture, and home accessories.
They design and fabricate some incredible pieces and style them with the most fun pop art, light fixtures, pillows and pottery and yes, it’s all for sale.

The Stella Credenza by Scout Design
Burl Wood – If you love a wood pattern with a high gloss, you’re here for Burl Wood. The Scout Design line currently offers 12 designs to choose from and they’re all fantastic. If you’re looking for a focal point that comes in a neutral but always catches the eye, start with Stella, available in a chest or credenza.
Grasscloth – Add a little texture to your walls and even your case goods with grasscloth. Scout created their own line and it comes in a variety of shades from a sherbet-y orange to a denim blue. Buy a roll and get to work or just pick up a finished piece like the Monarch Credenza.
Get Brassy And Sassy
Brass – Brass is here in a big way. Polished or brushed, it’s an elevated metallic that adds a little somethin’-somethin’ to your rooms and furniture alike. Go all-in with brass counter stools including one called, “Don’t Ghost Me.”
Add Texture to Your Art
3D Artwork – Step inside the Scout Design showroom and you’ll be almost overwhelmed with the incredible artwork that’s literally everywhere. One big trend Bunch called out is the 3D factor that’s popping up everywhere. Hong Kong-based Jen Lin uses recycled and dyed paper, cut in the shape of butterflies, to create iconic shapes that are intricate and stunning.
Gloss is Boss
Refinished Vintage – True to their roots, Scout Design offers some high-gloss, lacquered, reimagined vintage pieces. Of course these days vintage doesn’t just pair with vintage. Mix and match is more the way to go. Pair this shiny blue credenza with a modern white couch and two Mouth with Pins pillows by Seletti and welcome yourself to the world of high design.
