It’s rodeo time in Fort Worth so it’s once again time to hype up the Cowtown moniker that has been bestowed upon the west side of the Metroplex.  But don’t worry, we’re not a hick town. In fact, we are becoming quite “Moderne.”

That is to say, The Moderne, a 43-unit upscale condominium project in the upstart Linwood neighborhood, will soon be breaking ground in our fair burg.

Linwood Neighborhood

If you haven’t been to Fort Worth in a while then you probably aren’t aware of the complete transition (or should we say gentrification … Fort Worth’s good at that) of the Linwood neighborhood.

What was once a blighted swath of land with a park in the middle of it located in one of the hottest areas of growth and commerce in all of Fort Worth — the West 7th Street development — Linwood took a massive beating in 2000 when the tornado came to town.

Walkable location, affordable price point, and fantastic finishes define The Moderne

The aftermath left Linwood pretty much forgotten.  The neighborhood was comprised of 1940s homes of very little value.  Homes were mainly tenant occupied and you know what happens to those neighborhoods after a while.  It wasn’t an area you’d frequent after dark.

Around 2013-2014 various investors and developers did what we all wish we could do — take loads of cash and make even more loads of cash with it.  Apartment complexes were built, roads were improved, blight was purged, townhomes were built, and prices soared.

Now Linwood is a walkable, hip-and-happening neighborhood where you’ll need upwards of $450,000 or more just to entertain the idea of living there.  Capitalism at its finest.

The Moderne

Much of the land in Linwood is spoken for. However, at the corner of Wingate Street and Foch Street, construction will soon begin on this new condo project.

The Moderne will have 43 units with one- and two-bedroom floor plans, all single story, all with balconies.

Designed by the Fort Worth architecture firm of Fender Andrade and developed by FW Urban Homes, LLC, all condos will be single-level, open floor plans with private balconies, gourmet kitchens, over-sized bathrooms, and filled with technological advances.

The community will feature ample and assigned parking, a doggie park, community pool, private mailboxes and package delivery, and an exclusive area for residents to host parties or events.

Owners will have influence over selections — traditional or contemporary finishes — so now is the perfect time to get on the reservation list.

Prices of these 43 condo units range from upper $200s to mid $400,000.  That’s pretty amazing seeing as currently you can’t buy anything in Linwood under the $425,000 price point.  Construction is set to begin March 2019.

Reservations are already available for a mere $1,500, which is a fully refundable deposit until they are ready to sign purchase agreements.

The Moderne condominiums in Linwood are being represented by Debbie Hunn and Alana Long of The Urban Group with Williams Trew Real Estate.
