One of the hard truths of spending more time at home is that my life is kind of a mess. Not the kind of mess I want to Zoom call my therapist about. Rather, it’s the crazy amount of clutter I’ve seemed to accumulate over the last six months.

Once again, in times of pandemic chaos, it’s Netflix to the rescue. On Sept. 9, a new feel-good organization show is making its debut starring Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, Nashville-based founders of the home organization service The Home Edit.

House Beautiful calls the dynamic duo “two fun and fabulous organization gurus who built their business through Instagram.” Start following them—along with 1.6 million others—and you’ll instantly see why.

These ladies have rainbow color-coordination skills down to a science. They also do a pretty impressive job stacking plastic containers.

What really sounds fun, though, is the celebrity power.

Executive producers are Reese Witherspoon and Molly Sims. According to the promo, Get Organized with the Home Edit is going to de-clutter the homes of some pretty big names. Along with Reese (who’s featured on the trailer), the client roster sports Eva Longoria, Khloe Kardashian, Rachel Zoe, and Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, among others.

The series also features some everyday folks with real-life issues. Each have their own reasons for wanting an organizational overhaul. Stories range from a couple running an after-school enrichment program to a gay couple’s coming out party.

“We give people the tools to make a system smart, sustainable, and beautiful. Form plus function,” according to Clea and Joanna.

Clea and Joanna were also recently the focus of a New York Times article. Writer Amanda FitzSimons summed up their aesthetic as Pinterest organization porn: “Rows of pristine white shelves filled to no more than 75 percent capacity, pantries with paper towels artfully arranged in the shape of a pyramid and, its hallmark, items organized in order of ROYGBIV (an acronym for the order of the colors as they appear in a rainbow.)”

Gotta love it.

In tandem with the premiere of the Netflix show, on Sept. 15 the pair will launch The Home Edit Life: The No-Guilt Guide to Owning What You Want and Organizing Everything. (Available for pre-order on Amazon.) The title pretty much says it all.

Clea and Joanna are here to remind you that “it’s okay to own things” in the quest for pretty and smart spaces.

It’s a follow-up to their 2019 New York Times best-seller, The Home Edit: A Guide to Organizing and Realizing Your House Goals. Here, the premise is learning how to pare down your belongings and arrange them in a stunning and easy-to-find way. (Did someone say labels?)

When you’re done, you’ll not only know exactly where to find things—you’ll love the way it looks.

Good-bye, clutter. Hello, calm.
