Inwood House of the Week: One of My Favorite Euphorics on Euclid

3601-Euclid-Pool-copy-533x4001Oh how we love this home, it’s one of our favorites. I first started writing about 3601 Euclid back in 2008, when it was first built. And I have written about it so much I think that maybe, by now, I can claim a sort of Squatter’s Rights. This architecturally significant home was completely rebuilt in 2008 and is a shining tribute to sleek modern design, one of the best examples in Dallas.  Recall the dramatic entry with floating staircase, the Poliform kitchen (I’m fainting, always do!), the walls of glass overlooking the sleek pool, the patios, and grass yard. They even have the TV floating over the view! Sophisticated design elements throughout from zebra wood floors to floating floors, this home has won more awards than Richard Rogers. The glorious master bedroom is downstairs with beautiful, generous his and her baths. All other bedrooms are upstairs with the game room, all connected by a glass bridge walkway.

3601-Euclid-family-roomNow is it coming back to you?

The home is listed with Becky Frey for $4,299,000, lowered from $4,995,000.

3601-Euclid-stairsTake a ride in the time machine: Tomas Castella had the listing back in 2008, when Becky’s client, the current seller, came by and fell in love. I once said this house is like a boyfriend you had in college, who you wanted so very badly, but he married the prom queen (or, depending on your pref, king) and went off. You thought of him or her occasionally, perhaps while dusting off photographs. (He/she was BEAUTIFUL. Like in a Kennedy-clanesque way. He/she was your “girl in the white dress.”) One day, you meet up with him/her at a resort in Nassau or, say, Antigua, still gorgeous, and you find out that the prom king (or queen) has ditched him (made his life miserable, actually, the bitch) and he really wished he would have chosen YOU!

Such is 3601 Euclid. Once you see this home, it stays with you like that “girl in the white dress”. This 6756 square foot home is architecturally significant with a bold capital A. And Euclid is one of the city’s most prestigious streets with enviable homes. The home’s design netted three ARC’s for the sophisticated and contemporary design elements she encompasses, which are many.

Expansive? You bet! Try .47 acres. Five living areas, six full and one half baths. Another rarity: the master is on the first floor, 27 by 15, facing this same stunning view. The his and her master baths are like none other in town (and honey I’ve seen them ALL). Five bedrooms total, the other four are upstairs, accessible via that glass walkway… oh boy, get out the Windex! That glass floor has snagged this baby one of it’s trio of awards.

3601-Euclid-garageSeriously look, listen, drool. Contact the helpful loan officers at Inwood National Bank and Inwood Mortgage to get the ball rolling on financing this gorgeous modern marvel.

Besides, think of how great the view will be tonight through those windows: SURPRISE! We’re coming over to watch the fireworks! I’ll bring my own Windex.
