The contemporary home at 11322 E. Ricks Circle will be on this year’s Northaven Home Tour.

The Northaven Home Tour returns for another year, this time featuring a treasure trove of thoughtfully remodeled ranches and a contemporary design you’ll find rather familiar. Slated from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, the third annual Northaven Home Tour features six gorgeous properties, including the home of Dallas City Council District 11 representative Lee Kleinman, as well as a Frank Welch-designed stunner on Churchill Way.

The tour, sponsored by Bernbaum/Magadini Architects, Advocate Magazine, Renees Saulnier, The Miller Group, and the Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association (HFNA), benefits Kramer Elementary School’s PTA. Tickets are available to purchase online in advance for $20, or at Kramer Elementary (7131 Midbury) on the day of the tour.

“The Hillcrest Forest home tour was originally a small neighborhood event open only to residents in the Janmar area,” said home tour organizer Pete Peabody. “Three years ago, the Kramer PTA took over the tour and opened it up to the public, renaming it the Northaven Home Tour. It quickly has become our largest fundraiser. That very first year, we raised enough to allow us to fund the removal of a badly deteriorated blacktop and install a brand new sports court outside the gymnasium.”

Find out about three special homes on the tour after the jump!

The homes on tour this year include: 7107 Churchill Way, 7127 S. Janmar, 11767 Valley Dale, 11238 Valley Dale, and 11322 E. Ricks Circle (pictured above)

11322 E. Ricks Circle

Custom built by Travis and Travis, the one-owner contemporary is a 7,154-square-foot custom-built home on 1.95 acres. Designed by award-winning Architect Greg Ibañez with steel and engineered framing and insulated with 6-inch walls — 50 percent more insulation than other homes and solar panels on the roof — to keep this home operating efficiently. View the architecturally designed diving pool with a 15-yard lap lane, outdoor kitchen with pizza oven and grill, four fireplaces, private balcony off master, and mature trees with very private with views of the creek.

7107 Churchill Way

The home on Churchill Way was designed in 2002 by Frank Welch and was featured in 2017 during a memorial tour hosted by Preservation Dallas. The property is understated and sophisticated. You really get a sense of tranquility and calm. The interior is stunning, starting with a beautiful clean palate the home is impeccably furnished, not at all an impersonal approach but one that speaks to the interests of the occupants. It is important to note that this is the home of a former Kramer PTA President from the late 1970s — the children all attended Dallas public schools, were successful students throughout grade school and college, going on to the successful adults and member of the community. The owners remain active in the community and also with Kramer, supporting, attending various  events and activities.

A sophisticated and well-appointed home for living. Bernbaum/Magadini Architects transformed a one-story ranch home into an elegant abode. Owners are very involved in the community and entertain often.

“The tour brings together Kramer families, teachers, administrators, alumni, neighbors, and friends, and connects sponsors to people from all over the Dallas area,” Peabody said. “No longer limited to the Hillcrest Forest neighborhood, the tour showcases homes and neighborhoods around Northaven Road in North Dallas.”
