A real estate brokerage, development, and construction company is coming to the South Dallas/Fair Park area, Dallas officials announced Tuesday.

Shekinah Legacy Holdings received about $650,000 in economic development incentives from Dallas’ Small Business Center to relocate to a now-vacant building at 1708 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and revitalize the neighborhood at the corner of Colonial Avenue and MLK.

Shekinah Legacy Holdings is currently listed online with an office address at Commerce Street in Dallas. The new project is slated to create 23 jobs and will include private office space, conference rooms, a coffee shop, and a real estate training facility.

“This financing provided by the Small Business Center represents a significant investment not only in our company but also in the South Dallas community,” said Scottie Smith, manager of Shekinah Legacy Holdings. “By creating job opportunities for residents and bringing new businesses and economic development to the area, this project will positively impact the entire community. This is a prime example of how investing in small businesses can help to stimulate growth and improve the quality of life for everyone involved.”

A real estate training center within the facility will offer training in sales, mortgage origination, appraisals, inspection, development, and construction, according to a press release issued by the City of Dallas.

“This project represents the continued priority of the City to support small business growth and development in South Dallas,” said District 7 Councilman Adam Bazaldua, who represents the area. “I am proud to have supported this project because of the economic impact it will bring to South Dallas and support for generational wealth in our community.”
